Randonneur

A copy of the 1940s AVA "Randonneur," the favorite bars of many long-distance riders. The subtle bends support the curvature of your palms perfectly when holding onto the ramps (behind the brake levers). Generous shape in all dimensions allows moving your hands on long rides. (It's a difficult shape to bend, hence the high price.)

Maes (1970s)

A copy of the 1970s Philippe "Professionel," used by many racers when races were longer and tougher than today. Extra-long reach provides plenty of room on the ramps. Generous shape in all dimensions allows moving your hands on long rides.

Maes (Parallel)

A copy of the 1950s Philippe "Professionel." Ramps and lower ends are parallel, which makes for a very elegant handlebar and provides very flat ramps for long-distance comfort, but there is less room for your wrists when throwing the bike in sprints.

Self-adhesive cotton rim tape, 1 mm thick to prevent spoke nipples from chafing through, and 10 mm wide, just right for the first-generation Grand Bois rims. (For current-model Grand Bois rims, use standard Velox rim tape). Made in Japan.

Fenders for 650B x 42 mm tires

Made by Honjo in Japan in small quantities with special tooling for the large size, hence the high cost. Long front fender for full coverage:

• Front fender: 95 cm long, covers approx. 145° of front wheel
• Rear fender: 130 cm long, covers approx. 200° of rear wheel

All fenders include everything you need to mount to a frame designed for fenders:
• 2 fenders
• 2 stays
• 4 eyebolts (Daruma) to attach fenders to stays
• 1 eyebolt (Daruma) to attach fender to fork crown
• choice of attachment of stay to frame eyelet:
- 4 P-clamps (for threaded eyelets)
- 4 eyebolts (for threadless eyelets)
• Sorry, no sliding brackets, etc., available to mount these fenders to bikes without threaded bridges.

Nitto bike stand

Made by Nitto in small quantities. Fillet-brazed and plated like a Nitto rack. Holds the bike securely without scratching, and stays attached when you lift and carry the bike. Ideal for bike shows.

Does not work with wingnuts, nor with quick releases that have a "D" ring on the nut (Campagnolo Nuovo Record and similar). Does not fold.

Hard to find, limited supply. U.S. shipping only. Made in Japan.
